Dr. Chen has served as project PI and Co-PI on many projects. Research interests are: Computational fluid dynamics and numerical heat and mass transfer, finite element, finite volume, and meshless numerical techniques, lattice Boltzmann method, perturbation method, high performance computing, compressible flow simulation, atmospheric and environmental modeling, groundwater flow, thermal system design, renewable energy, data acquisition system, advance nuclear fuel cycle, fuel cell, high temperature heat exchanger and decomposer design, corrosion modeling, hydrogen production, and biomedical engineering.
